OHAP DAY SHIFT H-LINE UNEMPLOYMENT INSTRUCTIONS

You MUST follow the instructions below very carefully and file in a timely manner or YOU WILL NOT BE PAID UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS, as ODJFS is no longer back dating claims.

Please follow these instructions or contact your processing center to file:

File for unemployment online with the instructions below at: http://unemployment.ohio.gov. If you do not have internet access, call your processing center (the number is located on correspondence you’ve received from the ODJFS). ODJFS business hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday, except holidays. Below are the instructions for filing for unemployment:

You will file for unemployment benefits using Mass Layoff # 2300421. Your last day worked is 10/06/2023 and your return to work date is 10/23/2023.

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to call your processing center or visit the ODJFS web site a total of THREE TIMES:

SUNDAY, OCT. 8, 2023: OPEN OR RESTART APPLICATION FOR BENEFITS

SUNDAY, OCT. 15, 2023: CLAIM LAYOFF WEEK (WEEK ENDING 10/14/23)

SUNDAY, OCT. 22, 2023: CLAIM LAYOFF WEEK (WEEK ENDING 10/21/23)

If you do not follow these instructions and file timely, you will not be paid or your waiting week will not be served.

Please note: We lost our resource for assistance at ODJFS following Covid and we do not have the resources at the union hall to file for people anymore because of the changes in their system with their adding all the codes to access members’ accounts.

WAITING WEEK INFORMATION: Unit 1 OHAP members who were on layoff status and serving their waiting week will be denied unemployment. You must go to the ODJFS web site and print your unemployment benefit payment documents showing ZERO amount paid as well as the document under the “Claim Details” section, “View Claim Summary/Payment History” that shows “WW Served” as the most current status and take them to Human Resources to sign up for your SUB pay or snapshot/scan your documents and email them to ohaphrly@ford.com. If you aren’t able to print your paystub showing ZERO AMOUNT PAID, print ANYTHING from the ODJFS with your Social Security number on it and use that instead. Signing up for SUB this time will start your auto SUB for one year in the event of future layoffs.

If you have issues with unemployment and can’t get through via phone, this link will take you to the Claimant Unemployment Program Inquiry Form: https://odjfs.force.com/OUIForm/s/connect-ohio-inquiry-form. You’ll complete this form and provide the reason for the inquiry as well as a short description as to why you are contacting them. The inquiry will be sent directly to a team member for review and assistance. Another way of contacting online is: www.unemployment.ohio.gov and select the “Contact us” tile on the left side of the screen.
