 VACATION SHUTDOWN UNEMPLOYMENT INSTRUCTIONS

LAYOFF INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEMBERS WITH LESS THAN 40 HOURS OF VACATION TIME

 Please follow the unemployment instructions below carefully. odjfs will no longer BACKDATE applications/claims filed late. if you don’t file on time AND correctly, you won’t be paid. You must call the ODJFS or visit their web page TWICE; once to open your application for benefits and again the following week to claim your week.

MEMBERS WITH LESS THAN 24 VACATION HOURS WILL FILE FOR UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS: The mass layoff number is 2300268. You will be laid off for one (1) week. Your last day worked will be 06/30/2023 and your return to work date is 07/10/2023. On Sunday, 07/02/2023, you will open or restart your claim. On Sunday, 07/09/2023, you will file a claim for week ending 07/08/2023. TFTs that started working in January 2023 and prior to will be eligible for holiday pay as long as you’ve met the other requirements for July 3rd and 4th holiday. You must multiply their wage per hour x 16 hours to get the number you need to report for holiday pay. March TFTs and those hired after do not meet the 90 working day criteria that must be met for holiday pay eligibility. PLEASE NOTE: If you have at least one year of seniority, qualify for the holidays and have no vacation time, you will receive short work week pay and won’t need to file for unemployment.

WAITING WEEK INFORMATION: Unit 1 OHAP members who were on layoff status and serving their waiting week will be denied unemployment. You must go to the ODJFS web site and from your correspondence inbox print your unemployment benefit payment document showing ZERO amount paid. You also need to click on the “Claim Details” section, and print the “View Claim Summary/Payment History” page that shows “WW Served” as the most current status and take all three pages to Human Resources or email them to ohaphrly@ford.com to sign up for your SUB pay. If you aren’t able to print your paystub showing ZERO AMOUNT PAID, print ANYTHING from the ODJFS with your Social Security number on it and use that instead. Signing up for SUB this time will start your auto SUB for one year in the event of future layoffs. If you have any questions about your SUB pay, please contact Labor Relations at OHAP because they process the SUB payments.

UNION HALL HOURS DURING SHUTDOWN: The union hall will be closed Monday, July 3rd through Wednesday, July 5th and open Thursday and Friday, July 6th and 7th.

LOCAL 2000 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE ANNUAL LABOR DAY FAMILY CELEBRATION: This year’s event is already being planned for Sunday, September 3rd. Volunteers are needed for setting up, working the food line and cleaning up after the event. The first 50 volunteers will receive a free commemorative t-shirt. If you are interested in volunteering for this year’s event, please contact Linda at the union hall at 440.934.3151 x0 or email linda@uawlocal2000.org to sign up (be sure to give your t-shirt size).

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING: Due to membership action at the last General Membership Meeting, the next General Membership Meeting will be on Sunday, September 10th at 2:30 PM at UAW Local 2000, 3151 Abbe Road in Sheffield Village.
