Participation may be picket duty, kitchen duty, strike information classes or other related assignments. You must be in good standing at the time of the strike to receive benefits. INFORMATION BULLETIN                       www.uawlocal2000                      AUGUST 21, 2023 OHIO ASSEMBLY PLANT STRIKE AUTHORIZATION VOTE The Unit 1 Local and National Contracts and the Unit 2 National Contract will expire on September 14th, 2023 at midnight. We are required by the International Union to take a strike vote to authorize both the Local and International Union to strike, if necessary. While we are still in the early stages of UAW / Ford national negotiations, we strongly encourage everyone to continue preparations for a potential strike. WHERE: UAW Local 2000, 3151 Abbe Rd., Sheffield Village, OH WHEN: Tuesday, August 22, 2023 – 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM It is CRITICAL that we have high voter participation for a strike vote, so VOTE YES!! This affects YOU! PLEASE NOTE: In order to receive strike assistance information in the event of a strike, we must have your correct address and phone number. Please update your contact information via email at linda@uawlocal2000.org, phone at 440.934.3151 Ext. 0 to update your records. Once we are on strike, a secure link and code will be available for each member to access the registration page. You will be required to register online so please have this information ready. INFORMATION BULLETIN – JUNE 29, 2023  VACATION SHUTDOWN UNEMPLOYMENT INSTRUCTIONS LAYOFF INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEMBERS WITH LESS THAN 40 HOURS OF VACATION TIME  Please follow the unemployment instructions below carefully. odjfs will no longer BACKDATE applications/claims filed late. if you don’t file on time AND correctly, you won’t be paid. You must call the ODJFS or visit their web page TWICE; once to open your application for benefits and again the following week to claim your week. MEMBERS WITH LESS THAN 24 VACATION HOURS WILL FILE FOR UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS: The mass layoff number is 2300268. You will be laid off for one (1) week. Your last day worked will be 06/30/2023 and your return to work date is 07/10/2023. On Sunday, 07/02/2023, you will open or restart your claim. On Sunday, 07/09/2023, you will file a claim for week ending 07/08/2023. TFTs that started working in January 2023 and prior to will be eligible for holiday pay as long as you’ve met the other requirements for July 3rd and 4th holiday. You must multiply their wage per hour x 16 hours to get the number you need to report for holiday pay. March TFTs and those hired after do not meet the 90 working day criteria that must be met for holiday pay eligibility. PLEASE NOTE: If you have at least one year of seniority, qualify for the holidays and have no vacation time, you will receive short work week pay and won’t need to file for unemployment. Congratulations to the winners! SWEARING IN OF NEWLY ELECTED OFFICERS, COMMITTEEPERSONS AND STEWARDS for all UAW Local 2000 units will be held at the June 11th General Membership meeting. All newly elected officers/committeepersons/stewards must be present for swearing in. NEXT PAID HOLIDAY: Memorial Day – Monday, May 29th: If you aren’t aware of the holiday pay eligibility requirements for your unit, please refer to your contract or talk with your committeeperson or steward. Some of our units’ contracts read that they must work the day before and the day after a holiday and some read just the day after so it’s best to check so you don’t risk losing your holiday pay.  OHIO ASSEMBLY PLANT – 2023 INFLATION BONUS LUMP SUM PAYMENT: Eligible hourly employees will receive the 2023 Inflation Protection Bonus payment of $1,500 on Friday, June 9, 2023. Full time hourly employees on active employment rolls are eligible if they have acquired seniority as of May 15, 2023. Eligible seniority employees on active rolls, personal or medical leave of absence, FMLA leave, temporary layoff or short term military duty on May 15, 2023 will receive an Inflation Bonus. UAW NATIONAL FORD SUB COUNCIL: President Bill Samples will be out of town attending the UAW National Ford Sub Council from Monday, March 13th through Friday, March 17th. Dianna Brezina, 1st Vice President, will serve as acting president and can be contacted at 934.3151, extension 104. PROFIT SHARING DAY IS MARCH 9TH. Ford’s North American pre-tax profits will generate approximately $9,176 per eligible employee on a full-year basis. Individual profit sharing payments will be higher or lower, based upon employee compensated hours. Individual payments are based upon eligible compensated hours, so an employee who was compensated for overtime hours worked during the calendar year could receive more than $9,176. RENTAL HALL UPDATE: During the first week of February, the tree service took out most of the trees we will need in order to accommodate the new structure. AUTOKINITON CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS: We have been working on contract negotiations and hope to have their contract completed very soon. Autokiniton will likely become part of our local union. GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING: The next General Membership Meeting is Sunday, March 12th at 2:30 PM at UAW Local 2000, 3151 Abbe Road in Sheffield Village.
