08-05-24 Bulletin Re UE Issues

MESSAGE REGARDING CURRENT/RECENT LAYOFFS The local emailed unemployment regarding the issues members are having on both H days and nights. The two people who usually provide guidance are both out of the office. We have been told by some members that they are being asked for the job search information even though there is a mass layoff number. We have been told in the past by ODJFS that regardless of whether members have a mass layoff number or not, they still have to provide two jobs they applied for if they are asked. If you tell them you didn’t do a job search, chances are you won’t be paid. For that reason, be prepared to provide information about two jobs, or four jobs if you are bi-weekly. Day shift members are not being provided the correct weeks to reopen their claims this week. DO NOT open for the wrong date. You must call your processing center to have THEM reopen your claim. We won’t have a newspaper or web page that is up to date until we are able to find volunteers. FYI: UAW Local 2000 only has one OFFICIAL Facebook page and that is called UAW Local 2000. Members are finding that they were sent correspondence from the ODJFS in recent years (since the last layoffs) requesting documents for the identity verification. These members were back charged all the money they received from ODJFS from when they actually had legitimate layoffs because they didn’t respond to the correspondence in their ODJFS inbox. Please check your inbox and make sure that you have not been sent one of these notices and that they’re not saying you owe them money. If you check and they’re stating that you owe them money, you will need to get that resolved before there is another layoff.
